1940 LaSalle 52 series grille, upper & lower section w/ script and top emblem

Here is a vintage original 1940 LaSalle two section grille, 52 series, with Lasalle script  and top emblem.
Great chrome, scattered tiny pitting,dings, dents, scratches on shiny chrome, no cracks, but bottom half has been welded, maybe damage or crack in back--cant see anything in front , restored emblems. see photos.
The late  LaSalle grilles have long been popular for many custom/hot rod applications. The last two photos are for reference purposes only, showing the front grill side grilles and fender slits on a car. I also have the other grilles if a complete set is needed. The dimensions are approximately 30 1/2" high and 9" wide . 52 series lower section is 26" tall, one inch shorter taller than 50 series. If you want to use the lower grille on a 50 series LaSalle, i can supply the two extra slats to add the inch of hight or you can cut them off the upper section shown and spot weld them. I am using a cut down 50 Series lower grille on my 52 series and it fits perfectly.  A top emblem and a white script for the lower portion, is provided.
The overall condition of the lower grille: shiny chrome, no cracks or breaks and it looks really good for the age- straight and clean, with no serious problems after 80 years and compared to grille on my 1940 Lasalle, dimensional correct. If you look at the bottom chromed curved piece that gets hit with rocks and never gets waxed you can see the overall quality of this grille. where the grille has been welded in the back the gap between slats is 3/32" more than adjacent slats. Hardly noticable on a car unless you get on your knees and bend over to view the grille on the car. There are no cracks or breaks in the die-cast "pot" metal and the chrome finish still has a decent shine  with only minor blemishes (compared to what is usually seen on this type of grille), and there are very few pits on the horizontal surfaces. The grille could be polished up better or could be freshly  re-chromed to go on a trailer queen. It is best to use a good core like this for rechroming . Most blemishes are on the horizontal portion of the slats which i believe were originally flat black..  The upper grille has tiny scatterd pitting at the top and could also be rechromed for  SHOW quality as its most visable and inexpensive to do.....not sure why people list these upper sections on ebay for 0. Maybe they have been rechromed. Anyhow, please chin my photos so you know what you are buying. If you prefer a black or red script , I can change it out...same quality
